Yellow iris were in bloom the last time I recorded what was in bloom but this one was still stunning.
We still have a number of salmon colored iris flowers too.

These purple iris glowed in their very shady location.
Another strikingly beautiful iris color. The curves of the petals make the flowers more interesting and lovely but they make it hard to get a good photo.

Cala lilies were growing by our front door when we moved in almost 40 years ago. The area was disturbed when we remodeled two decades later but the bulbs survived.
Campanula flowers. Another non-native bought years ago.
Coral bells in the front and buttercups in the background.

I'm always happy to see columbine flowers appear in the spring.
Inidvidual ceonothus flowers are too small to see in detail without magnification.
A splash of yellow on a cluster of ceonothus flowers caught my eye. My second yellow crab spider of the year. This one was sitting with front legs ready to grab a visitor.
It is shady in our front yard but the poppies there are ahead of most of the poppies in our back yard.

I wanted to get a picture of the exerted stamens of sonoma sage. This honey bee flew in so I took its picture.

I looked through the pictures to find one without an insect. I thought this one would do but it has a green insect near the top.
