I made my loop around the lake without seeing the green heron chicks that I had come to photograph. The an adult green heron flew past me and landed on a limb out in the open. It was a bit far for my lens but this was a chance to get a picture of a shy species.
About that time, a muskrat swam toward me. I got a good look but it dived before I could take a picture. A good morning at the park.
